Huawei, Google teaming up for new 7-inch tablet

Google's Pixel C tablet from last year was one of the best Android tablets ever. It looks like it could be Huawei's job to follow those footsteps.

If reputable tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, is to be believed, Google's next tablet will be made by the Chinese tech giant. Blass said the device will have a 7-inch screen and 4GB of RAM.

Perhaps adding credence to rumour is the fact that Huawei recently trademarked the "Huawei 7P" name. According to Blass, the device is "on track for release before the end of the year."

Blass has an excellent track record with smartphone tips, correctly predicting details of phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and last year's Nexus 6P, which was also made by Huawei.

Solid Mega Phablet, Great for Multimedia and Gaming

Huawei P8 Max is a mega phablet that was launched with the Huawei P8 last year, as well as the P8 Lite. It debuted in Spring 2015 and it comes with a 6.8 inch screen. It’s priced at $449 on Amazon and shares the bulk of specs with the Huawei P8, only bigger. It’s also a Lenovo Phab Plus rival.
This model has a big metal body and looks like a bigger P8, which it actually is. It measures 6.8 mm in thickness, weighs 228 grams, which means it’s 0.4 mm thicker than the P8 and about 80 grams heavier than the P8. It’s also slimmer than the Lenovo Phab Plus and weighs 1 gram less. Somehow, this phablet feels light considering its size and it comes with a pretty solid build.
It’s great for gaming and binge watching TV shows, while its premium metal build makes it very appealing. It’s got slim bezels and aside from using aluminum, it also opts for magnesium within the chassis. Huawei used her a 7 layer setup with a heat conducting structure. There’s an antenna window at the bottom back area and the microUSB port is placed at the top, atypical for a phone/phablet.

Huawei's MateBook Windows tablet is coming to the US

Huawei's MateBook, a Windows 2-in-1 tablet, will be launching in the United States in the near future for $699. For that price, you get a convertible Windows 10 machine featuring a 12.9-inch display (2160 x 1440 resolution), Intel's Skylake Core M processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

The MateBook made its debut back at Mobile World Congress in February, and we were impressed during our initial hands-on. Huawei's battery life claims are certainly impressive: nine hours of video playback. And remember that the volume rocker also doubles as a fingerprint reader, which is a neat little trick.
